I REFI WITH LOAN DEPOT IN MAY AT 4%, 2 POINTS, AND CLOSING COSTS $1875. AUSTIN FROM NAF CONVINCED ME THAT BEING EXCELLENT CUSTOMERS WE WILL SAVE MONEY AND NO APPRAISAL. I FAXED ON 6/3 ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS TO NADDER. AND SIGNED THE LOAN. WEEKS PASSED, PHONE MESSAGES NOT ANSWERED PROMPTLY. ON 8/29 DEBORAH MURPHY ASKED FOR 8 DOCUMENTS AND TO SIGN A NEW LOAN, 2.875%I POINTSN AUGUST WIFE COMPLAINED TO NAF AND LOAN WAS APPROVED IN 4 DAYS. DEBTS NOT PAID NO USE OF ETF.

New American Funding hired a local law firm to process the closing of my loan. That law firm shipped the signed forms using FedEx, who subsequently lost the shipment. I'm very uncomfortable with a lost shipment containing that much personal information. New American Funding was unwilling to take full responsibility, instead blamed it on FedEx and the law firm for choosing FedEx. This lack of ownership is completely unacceptable as a service provider.

Cathy contacted me about a phone loan. I was very hesitant about letting her run my credit and I voiced that upfront. She convinced me to do it anyway. She requested several documents including my banking information. I emailed her everything on the list. I NEVER heard from her again. This was in August. No phone calls. No emails. Nothing. She hit my credit with a hard inquiry and ig obviously was good enough for her so she just went on about her business and left me hanging. Horrible horrible s

Without going into a long essay I would simply say better communication, more efficient management of the process or at least expectations to the customer. Better escalation process. It took me at least 8 requests to speak to someone other than Bailey and finally received a call from his direct manager as things started moving again so I felt no need to speak to him. This was by far one of the wort financial transactions I have ever been involved with.

Sergio was ok in the beginning but when we got closer to closing he wouldn’t respond to calls or emails. Sergio wasn’t honest about lender credit.

We were materially misled on two key fronts. First, we were advised that underwriting would take 2 weeks with a 3-day buffer. It required over 2 weeks beyond the buffer to close, with daily ad hoc requests made by New American with no willingness to even estimate a revised closing date. The Seller even threatened legal action given the ongoing extensions. Second, were told in writing that we'd owe New American $500 for no points at closing. We were then charged $1,690 with no explanation.
