I was the listing agent and there was confusion on who the point of contact was through the transaction which was not great. It started off poorly with not setting expectations on a closing date for a renovation loan after my discussion with the mortgage originator, Kristie Lee, who ultimately blamed it on the renovation team which was different from her communication of 45 days after I questioned it having gone through renovation loans in the past and her communication to the buyer and buyer agent. The buyer agent was not able to get clear communication (Jonathan Maxey was the processor and someone else on the team) and my attempts were unanswered as to delays and where things were in the loan process. It was frustrating. Who are you? I've never seen your name in the process of this loan. Obviously, it wasn't managed well. I'm amazed at how much communication I am receiving in the last part of the loan process and post-closing. I highly recommend better communication through the process and when there is an issue with the parties involved. I hope that my feedback on your poor performance will help you improve your systems and communication. It is unfortunate that if I see another pre-approval letter from NAF that it will be received with trepidation.

I’ll start off with, you will get A loan. They will tell you everything you want to hear. They will tell you one thing on the phone and it will change once you receive your disclosure. I received the wrong payoff balances and some that were paid off years ago. Told them multiple times to fix these before we closed but they just acknowledged me and never did anything to fix it. Jonathan Marlowe was rude to me and failed to answer his phone 99% of the time during our loan process. Would tell me one thing and the next day it would change and there were days and days that would go by with no information and his excuse was we weren’t his highest priority. But thanks for giving me a loan that I can’t use to payoff anything, real fun experience! Apart from us waiting awhile to get our appraisal done, the rest of the process took months so don’t expect to close as fast as any other mortgage or refi.

Vik Faulkner had tried to sell his funding to a family that I performed a home inspection for. They OVERCHARGED the couple to the point they were going to lose the house purchase. Luckily , with the buyer's realtor's help she found them another company and saved the buyers many thousands of dollars to where they were able to SAVE the purchase and lower their monthly payment and closing costs tremendously . He overcharged them in fees, etc. Then ,he then tried to blame the fiasco on the customers . I would not use thus guy..... I hope that this review is not removed ......

I relocated to the area and started looking to get a small place for my family. I got connected to this company through my realtor and I didn’t bother checking with others because my realtor talked highly about a person who works at the office, Jason. He was great person to work with. The problem started as soon as he forwarded my paperwork to the finance department. Now, I know the system wasn’t designed to serve people who look like me first place but some people are on a mission to make it harder. First, they wanted me to confirm my income from the United States Army Reserves by logging on to the Army website through a link they provided me with. When I bought a house before, the W2s and tax return information was only thing they required. This company asked me to compromise the government website because they don’t think the W2s and tax returns are appropriate documents or they don’t know . I told them that I cannot do that and dropped it off after multiple emails exchanges. And then I got an email from a person by the name of Melanie part of it reads as follows, "AND a Letter of explanation as to why he changed jobs! ??" Melanie. People change jobs because they are not privileged to have a career. I have been here 10 years. I am a former refugee and yes I have changed jobs for better job and pay. I might have appreciated a more appropriate and professional email. Finally, I had to withdraw all together. These issues are not something that can prevent you from working with the company. For me, I care about trust and honesty, everything else can be fixed but trust might take time to do so. And I wouldn’t do a long-term business with people I cannot trust. If you are like me, who wanted to have a business based on trust and dignity, look somewhere else. This place won’t deliver that. I am writing this because if I don’t, they won’t know and if then don’t know they won’t change.

Bought a home in Dec 2023, Rates where dropping, I compared the rate I was given by my Loan officer to the rate NAF website and was off in their favor by $150-200/m ( 775-800+ credit score) , I never did get a straight answer on that. Next we were hounded for a review via email spam , I figured since I wasn't keen on saying anything good I'd leave it be. No, 3 automated emails later I ask my lender to make these stop. Instead the lender filled it out on my behalf. 5 Stars " Great job". I guess that's one way to solve it, except I never said that, nor would have given it. In fact it's still on the NAF website, I've asked that be removed a few times... still there. Why am I writing this review today? Because I just found out my data was resold to some other company called Homebot Digest and now they are spamming me. What's worse is it appears to come from our loan officer directly as a personal email. Maybe this is just the way business is done these days, but I wish it wasn't. If possible I will update this review as my data is continually resold.

As an agent, if communication is your thing, go somewhere else. I pride myself on communication between myself and lenders so we can give our clients the best experience possible and unfortunately, the communication and ability to get us to the finish line in a timely fashion just didn't happen.

Unfortunately my husband and I were not informed upfront from New American Funding, Tamara and ultimately Lindsey our loan would be 35 percent down and a rather high interest rate! We would have simply postponed the mortgage. We were informed after there was hard money down, lots of unfortunate surprises along the way, we were hoping the company would step up and try to make some amends, but it did not happen.
