"My loan is currently still a mess. The finance company sent ME three of the account checks made out to different companies. My loan closed but I have accounts that are still pulling from my account and nothing has registered that they have yet been paid. I had $12,000 worth of checks floating around on my porch in a water-soaked envelope from Empower Settlement Services (which required NO signature) along with a letter--part of which was written in pen--that said they assumed no liability and weren't responsible for the checks. That is absolutely ridiculous. I attempted to contact someone to see if the water-logged check could be cancelled and wired to me in order that I could pay it in a timely manner without accruing more interest on the accounts that were SUPPOSED to be paid in full when I closed. Instead, I am now dealing with a load of stuff that I don't have control over and is actually costing me. I do NOT recomment Empower Settlement Services. They are rude, unprofessional, and reckless in their handling of accounts. Shelley McReynolds was amazing. I even appreciate Jodi. Someone over there needs to get their phone system fixed along with the correct phone numbers on their emails, but I appreciate what she did. I wish there was a little more follow-through to make sure that everything is done that should've been. I will give one more week, and then I may be contacting someone if the follow-through isn't continued. ...especially if I am supposed to be repaying an amount for an account that should've been paid.
