Patty Arvielo Rallies for Latina Empowerment at NCLR 2016 National Conference

Tustin, CA – New American Funding today announces Patty Arvielo's participation in the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) 2016 National Conference in Orlando, FL this past weekend. Arvielo, President of the California-based mortgage banker, was an event panelist and spoke about the barriers women face, Latinas in particular, when it comes to reaching financial independence.

"This is about fighting for our passions, and doing it any way we can. Choose a mentor who is in a position you aspire to, learn from them, change the way you think, then go out and be an example yourself," commented Arvielo.

The panel, "A Force Unleashed: The Rising Economic Power of Latinas", was attended by over 400 people and moderated by New York Times Best Selling author Nely Galan. Arvielo was joined by Julie Castro-Abrahams and Zixta Martinez, to discuss issues Latinas face when taking control of their financial lives.

Arvielo is an award-winning business woman, nationally recognized for her professional achievements. Starting her own Latino Focus committee at New American Funding in 2013, she hopes to educate both the housing industry and consumers regarding issues faced by Latino Americans in their pursuit of homeownership.

Participation in the NCLR event and her involvement with business leaders, journalists, and entertainers regarding issues affecting the Latino community, are part of Arvielo's current efforts toward supporting the empowerment of women, minorities, and Latino communities.
