New American Funding Loan Consultant Appointed to HUD Committee
Tustin, CA – New American Funding, a national mortgage banker, today announces that Linda Ayres, Loan Consultant at the company, has been named to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Housing Counseling Federal Advisory Committee (HCFAC). The committee was established under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010. The advisory panel aims to help HUD's Office of Housing Counseling improve their efforts to provide consumers with the knowledge they need to make informed and lasting housing decisions.
"I am so honored to have been appointed the Office of Housing Counseling Federal Advisory Committee! I am working with a fantastic group of professionals and we had an excellent first meeting at The White House on June 21, 2016. It was such a pleasure to meet Secretary Castro and the HUD staff members who will be working with us closely as we begin the work of the committee," Ayres said.
With 23 years in the mortgage industry, Ayres brings experience, passion and industry know-how to HCFAC. Throughout her career, she has been involved with non-profit organizations to provide homebuyer education and down payment assistance. She currently works at New American Funding as a Loan Consultant, and is a regular educator at Neighborhood Housing Services of Southern Nevada (NHSSN), where she teaches her community about the mortgage lending process.
